Set Up A Wireless Network
Simply put, a Wireless Network allows you to:
1. Connect multiple computers to a single Cable or DSL line. What this means is every computer in your home or office will have high speed Internet access at the same time! No more fights about who is next on the computer!
The kids can do their homework online while dad researches new cars ... and mom chats with her friends ...all at the same time!
2. No wires to restrict where you set-up your computers. Want to surf the web with your laptop while sitting at the pool or at the kitchen table? No problem!!
3. Share printers, files, gaming systems (Playstation, X-Box, etc.) - you name it, it can be shared!
4. You can even attach cameras to your wireless network to view your home (outside or inside) from any Internet connection in the world!! Think about it ... you’re on vacation in Ireland and you can see if your lawn sprinklers came on! Or just check in with the baby sitter while at work.
We can show you how to do it!
A question we are often asked is...
“how do we protect our kids while they are surfing?” or one that comes up in any house with teenagers...
“how can I restrict the days and/or times my kids are surfing the Internet?”
When we set up a wireless network in your home, we can also add a Parental Control solution that delivers “peace of mind” protection that will allow you to:
- Manage access for all major Internet applications -- web browsing, e-mail, chat, and instant messaging.
- Enforce time-of-day and day-of-week restrictions - this is key if your children have PCs in their bedrooms - for example, you can shut off all access at 10pm on school nights for selected computers, but allow others to be “live” 24 hours a day. Isn’t technology wonderful?
- Protect all Internet-capable devices on the home network including desktops, laptops, game consoles and PDAs.
- Determine Internet usage based on personal profiles, rather than devices, to reflect individual maturity levels and needs.
- Filter web sites based on millions of URL classifications within separate categories including, for example, pornography or violence, which are updated on a daily basis by an independent rating service. ( web site classifications can be overridden on a case-by-case basis based on parental judgment.)
- View online reports to monitor household Internet activities (including Web surfing and chat), on-demand from any location inside or outside the home network.
Give us a call - we can usually have you set-up in about an hour!
